Engage: Ways to Get Involved in Our Centennial
Our centennial provides a special opportunity for members to engage and propel our association into its next 100 years.
Here are a few things we’re doing to honor this milestone and prepare for the future.
APTA Campaign for Future Generations: To support our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we have created a two-year Campaign for Future Generations that will conclude at the end of 2021. Net proceeds from our centennial activities will support this campaign, but we are also accepting individual donations. The first 10,000 people to donate at least $10 will have their names included on our community wall at our new headquarters, APTA Centennial Center. Learn more and donate now!
Special Events: Our centennial year events begin with our Founders’ Day in January and continue throughout the year. See the Celebrate page for more details.
Celebrating History: Take some time to browse our 100 milestones of physical therapy from APTA’s first 100 years. Purchase our special history book, A Century of Movement: Milestones of the American Physical Therapy Association’s First 100 Years.
APTA Centennial Scholars Program: This year we’re hosting a 12-month program to build a cadre of future association leaders at both the national and chapter and section levels to support our collective quest for a diverse and prepared leadership pool. APTA chapters and sections are sponsoring up to one hundred scholars, who are paired with mentors and participate in virtual learning and two in-person events, while working on capstone projects to benefit their sponsors.
